Panel of Talent Agents

Talent Agents, part 1

Happy New Year! And we are starting 2016 with a BANG! On Wednesday, January 13th, we will feature the 1st of 2 panels of talent agents as our guest speakers! Our first panel will be on Wednesday, January 13th, the next will be Wednesday, February 10th, and you should attend both Network Austin Mixers.

Talent agents are those hard-working people who represent us in the industry in order to set us up for auditions with casting directors, negotiate contracts and work hard on our behalf, plus getting the latest info about what’s happening in the biz.  This is exactly what our attendees can expect from this panel. Each agent will be introduced and give a brief overview of his/her agency and experience. We then will open the floor to Q&A. This is a very important Mixer that you do not want to miss… so join us! Our panel will include the following talent agents, listed in alphabetical order by agency:

   Liz Atherton, The Atherton Group

   Linda Alcazar, Condra Artista

   Debora Duckett, dB Talent

   Tory Christopher, Tory Christopher Group

Non-represented talent currently seeking representation is invited to bring 4 headshots & resumes and/or demo tapes to put on the stage floor in front of each of our speakers, before the panel starts, so that they will each have submission packages to review when they leave.
Make sure your headshot and resume are the same size and stapled back-to back.

Come join us on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, arrive early for a cold margarita, network and meet new friends with like minds, enjoy a fun-filled evening with other guests and get the info you need to know about these talent agents, what they do, what they are looking for, landing the roles, upcoming projects and more!

Last Month…

We extend our deepest thanks to Brian Gannon, Austin Film Commision Director for being our guest speaker on Wednesday, November 9, 2015! Brian has worked as the Film & Marketing Manager at the Austin Film Commission for 3 years prior to becoming the office’s director. Prior to his time at the Austin Film Commission, Brian gained production experience working in different capacities on numerous films projects including working on productions at Detour and Troublemaker Studios. Over the years Brian has also worked at the Texas Film Commission as a production liaison.

  • You may park at the Super 8 Motel (just south of Baby A’s) for $8. Be sure to pay the desk person at Super 8 Motel when you park there so your vehicle doesn’t get towed and DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF DUMPSTERS!
  • If you drive south another 2 blocks, there is on-the-street parking available.

Mixing & Networking begin @ 5:30PM, then the Panel starts @ 6:45.

February 11, 2015

Panel of Talent Agents

Talent Agent Panel

On Wednesday, February 11, 2015, the Network Austin Mixer will present the 2nd of 2 panels of talent agents — who are about the most important people in any actor’s life. As (almost) always, our mixer starts at 6 and the program begins at 6:45.
Our February 11th panel will feature:

Jason Lee of Acclaim Talent

Erin Franklin of Agence Talent

Cynthia Robbins of BLVD Talent

Heather Collier of Collier Talent

Linda Alcazar of Condra Artista Talent

Romie Szal of K Hall Talent

We may possibly have one more surprise talent agent, as well!

There’ll be a place set up in front of each speaker’s chair onstage for non-represented talent to drop off headshots & résumés, so you’re invited to bring 7 or so with you to leave with the talent agents.

Talent agents represent us, set up auditions, and want to see us succeed and get good paying work. So it’s very important to know what the current needs and trends are, which is why we expect you to join us on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Baby Acapulco’s, 5610 North IH-35, Austin TX 78751.

Arrive early for a “Happy Hour” cold margarita, network and meet new folks with like minds, enjoy a fun-filled evening with other guests, and get the latest about what talent agents are looking for in actors, what current breakdowns and projects are seeking talent, and much more!

Last Month…

We extend our deepest thanks to January’s Network Austin Mixer panel of talent agents which featured Liz Lyons Atherton, owner of TAG, Tory Christopher, owner of Tory Christopher Group, and Veronica Kelley-Albiez, owner of DVA Talent. We had a full house and the agents answered all the questions that attendees asked. Thank you, Liz, Tory, and Veronica!

We at the Network Austin Mixer wish to express our sincere gratitude for the many esteemed guest speakers who have so graciously offered their time and insights over the last 8 years, and to you who attend our monthly mixers, for making them the incredible successes they have become. We will continue to present insightful and up-to-date guest speakers. We are honored to have been an effective “meeting & networking” opportunity for so many in our community. Thanks for being a part of it!

Let friends interested in the media worlds know about our monthly mixers. We put them on to provide opportunities for you to network and get information about acting, films, television, and media.
