Ingrid Edwards, CPA, PC

Ingrid Edwards, CPA

On Wednesday, June 10, 2015, the Network Austin Mixer will feature Ingrid Edwards, CPA! The information Ingrid will provide can save you money… and everyone likes to save money, right? Whether one works as an independent contractor on a small project or is hired on a major production, there are funds that can be deducted from Uncle Sam’s cut of our income, and these are often overlooked. Let’s face it, if major corporations with teams of high-powered attorneys can take advantage of every possible deduction—and they certainly do—then so should artists, which most of us in the media fields are.

Concerning taxes and deductions, Ingrid will discuss in detail and answer questions about:

 Hobby or real business?
What makes an artist a professional?
Tax basics for actors and child actors?
Continuing education or training for a new profession?
Home office – good idea or not?
Travel and meals – how to sort this out?
Apparel, hair and make-up, gym dues, manicure and pedicure, dry cleaning – which count and which don’t?
Additional tax deductions (movie tickets, rentals, TV subscriptions, etc.)

As the principal of Ingrid Edwards CPA PC, Ingrid brings 20 years of experience in public accounting, works with both individuals and businesses, has provided accounting and tax solutions to companies in a wide range of industries, and has conducted audits for companies ranging in size from $1-150 million in annual revenues.

Prior to opening her own firm, Ingrid held senior positions with James E. Roberson & Co. in Austin, TX, and Eugene McRedmond and Co. in Danbury, Connecticut. She holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Auditing from the University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia and a Business degree from Ecole Superieure De Commerce in Tours, France. She is a member of the American Institute of public Accounts and the Texas Society of CPAs. Needless to say, she is highly-experienced.

Take advantage of this rare opportunity to get free information about taxes, deductions, and more! You do not want to miss this informative and fun-filled evening, so join us on June 10th at Baby A’s for networking and meeting like minds. Enjoy a cold margarita, some great food, and get updated about how to save money.

On Wednesday May 13, 2015 The Network Austin Mixer will feature the 2nd of 2 panels of Casting Directors! This is “where the rubber meets the road” so to speak. Scheduled to speak this month are casting directors:

Casting Directors are those talented people that producers, studios, ad agencies, production companies, and filmmakers hire to find the right actors for the roles in a particular script or project. In other words, if your agent gets you the opportunity to audition for a casting director, your job is to put your heart, soul and mind into the part… and get hired!

We are grateful to our panels of Casting Directors for graciously offering their time and insights on April 8th & May 13th. So join us for the Q&A sessions, network, meet like minds, have a cold margarita, some great food and get updated about the process from the professionals in-the-know.

All non-represented talent is invited to bring 5 headshots & résumés to this mixer, 1 set per panel speaker. Please staple your headshot to your résumé for each casting director on the panel.

For those of you who missed our April 8th mixer we wish to share with you our “April Fools” surprise songs, starring Donise L. Hardy, Gary L. Wimmer, Kerry Ramsay, Kelly Dealyn, Ammie Leonards, and Gayla Gray, featuring sound by Gary L. Wimmer with a little help from Judith Ruder, all of whom took the casting directors and the audience on an unexpected ride via Gary’s short song Make Happen What You Dream About. Gary stumbles through the song… and more… but gets help.

The Network Austin Mixer is now in its 10th year and we deeply appreciate your support, interest, and attendance. We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, with exceptions occasionally due to weather or scheduling. There is no membership required to attend and no cover charge.
