1st Annual Screening Series

The Network Austin Mixer presents our 1st Annual Screenings!

There’re just so many talented filmmakers in our midst, we figured it was about time to feature a few. So that’s what we’re doing at our March Mixer.

On the 2nd Wednesday evening next month we’ll be delighting our audience with screenings of your teasers & trailers. Projects must be based in Central Texas, and preference will be given to those for feature films, although an outstanding one for a short may slip in. We’re also inviting any for exceptional television or digital series, or even a remarkable video game.

Please exercise sensitivity when editing and choosing your video teaser or trailer for our viewing audience, which includes people of all ages and backgrounds. In other words, keep it clean.

There’s room in our program for 10-12 videos at about 5 minutes apiece, including introductions & descriptions for each.

Submit yours here by the end of this month, which this leap year falls on February 29th.

Then plan to be at our next NAMixer on Wednesday, March 11th — and invite all your friends to come watch!

Complete & send this form for your project’s teaser or trailer, and pass it along to others with great projects in the works.

Submissions Deadline: Saturday, February 29, 2020

As of this writing, this first year isn’t an official offsite SxSW event, but we’d like next year’s to be. So submit great videos, spread the word, get the buzz going, and let’s make this another amazing event to help put Central Texas entertainment media and our plethora of talented & skilled players on the worldwide map.

No Mixer in March

Ready for SXSW 2018? It starts today the 9th and runs through the 18th, and is the reason we don’t hold mixers in March.

While anxiously awaiting our next mixer, take this time to brush up your résumé & dig up a current headshot since we’ll be presenting 2 consecutive panels of some of the busiest and most successful casting directors in Central Texas. So mark your calendar for April 11th & May 9th when we’ll once again reunite at Opal Divine’s Austin Grill. And be first to find out which casting directors will grace our stage by getting on our mailing list!

 

Last Month

We extend our deepest thanks to last month’s terrific talent agents for speaking as our guests, elaborating on their extensive experience, and answering so many audience questions. Our February 14th panel featured these fantastic owners, managers, and agents: Jason Wasner of Acclaim Talent, Cynthia Robbins of BLVD Talent, Claudia Ramon of Condra/Artista Talent, and Romie Szal of K Hall Agency.

 

About Where We Meet

Network Austin Mixer has been meeting for well over a decade in various parts of our fine, creative, and culturally rich city. For the last several years our mixers have been held in North Austin, drawing attendance from all parts of Austin and nearby cities & towns, but obviously easiest for those north of the river. Some people, serious about making it in our industry, have traveled much farther to attend our mixers which have always been free and open to the public, and yet rich with constructive information and productive networking. So it’s time for those in South Austin to get a break since we’re a bit south of the river now. No matter where we are, and no matter where you’re from, we hope you’ll join us at our mixers!
