About Us

Gary spent most of his adult life touring the USA as a musician and working as a psychic. In 1993 he moved to Copenhagen, Denmark and toured Northern Europe performing in clubs, concerts, and on cruise ships. It was then Gary began writing. Upon his return to Austin in 2000, he studied acting and screenwriting, and became involved in the film community as an actor, a crew member, and a reader for the Austin Film Festival. Gary met Doran on a movie set in 2004 and joined him in moving the Network Austin Mixer forward. And he is now the author of 2 books: A Second in Eternity & Lithomancy

Founding Member – No Longer Active. A member of SAG/AFTRA since 1990, Doran has been a hardcore supporter of the Texas film industry since returning to the USA in 2004. After asking everyone in Austin where the networking mixers were… and finding out there was not one… Doran started The Network Austin Mixer. His goal is to give actors, agents, crew members, producers, directors and writers a venue similar to those found in Los Angeles and New York. The venue? To meet others of like interest and expand their knowledge of and exposure to the entertainment industry.
